Russyan’s name is pronounced like people from Russia, but he’s most definitely not from there. He graduated from Brown University, where he studied the degradation rate of fruit flies’ mitochondria, did lots of theater, sang with his a cappella group, and graduated with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He was a Gates Millennium and Questbridge Scholar, and was an active member of the Brown Center for Students of Color. Afterwards, he taught at Summit High School in San Jose, CA through AmeriCorps, and is now on the road to becoming the best doctor he can be. When he’s not studying, he is likely helping people do their studying, chilling with family, checking out new coffeeshops, watching Netflix, or all of the above.
