Leslie earned a BA in Writing from the University of Redlands and both an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English Literature from Chapman University. After 17 years teaching AP Language and Composition, AP Psychology, and College Prep English at La Habra High School, Leslie went on to work as a freelance writer and writing coach. Currently, she is editing her first book, a work of creative nonfiction based on her childhood, a chapter of which was published in San Diego Writers, Ink’s A Year in Ink, vol. 9. Leslie’s passion is teaching young writers how to develop unique voice and authentic style. In her free time, she loves reading, writing, meditating, and trying to find the perfect balance between junk food and exercise. Her husband and two kittens give her more reasons to smile every day.
