Lauren Hammond, Humanities Tutor

Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Writing at California State University, San Marcos and her Master in Arts degree in English and Comparative Literature at San Diego State University (SDSU). She is currently a PhD candidate in English at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). In the past, she has worked as a rhetoric and writing instructor for SDSU, and she is now currently serving as a literature and writing instructor for the University Writing Program at UCR. As an undergraduate, Lauren served as a research assistant, helping to design a new course on the folklore and mythology in the Harry Potter series. In 2013 Lauren presented her research on Harry Potter at the annual conference of the American Folklore Society in Providence, RI. In her continuing studies as a graduate student, Lauren enjoys working as a university teaching associate, research assistant, copy editor, writing consultant lead, and standardized test preparation instructor.
