Born and raised in San Diego, Sumana graduated from Torrey Pines High School and subsequently spent four years at Caltech to obtain a degree in Biology. During this time, she informally tutored students in biology and biochemistry in a collaborative environment. After graduating, she spent a year working as a Medical Assistant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She moved back to the better coast and is interested in spreading knowledge while pursuing a medical degree. In her spare time, Sumana enjoys sewing her own clothes (with pockets!), engaging in kitchen chemistry, noodling on her ukulele, and playing word games.
