Stephanie is native of Lafayette, Louisiana. She has devoted most of her adult life to working with learners of various ages. As an undergraduate she kept herself busy as a double major studying English and Latin American literatures at University of Louisiana in Lafayette. She graduated in 2013 being the first in her family to receive a college degree. Stephanie didn’t stop there, being the avid learner that she is, she set her eyes on her Master’s degree at Louisiana State University. During her time in graduate school, she was focusing her skills in Hispanic Studies and centered her thesis in cultural studies. Stephanie’s thesis is concentrated on the analysis of various texts like: blogs, transnovels, artivists*, and poetry from Spain and Latin America. She was a member of various honor societies like: Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Delta Pi. Upon receiving her Master’s, she went on to teach in the bustling city of Tijuana, Baja California, where she worked with ESL learners and hosted the writing/reading club. Since completing graduate school, Stephanie has been a panelist at several international conferences from Poland, Mexico, Argentina to Louisiana and California. If she isn’t reading or watching movies/documentaries, Stephanie finds herself running with her dog, traveling, attending art galleries, and theater events, amongst other cultural activities.
