My name is Melissa Rabaya, and I am so excited to be teaching at Hamilton College Consulting this summer. I have over 10 years of experience in education. I am a high school English teacher that has taught students at all levels from ESL, SPED, and Honors. Each student has brought new insight to my teaching pedagogy and has helped me become a better teacher. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2008 with a BA in English Education. In 2010, I completed my single subject credential from CSULB by student teaching at Downey High School in Downey, CA, in which I taught Grade 10 ESL and Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC). In 2016, I expanded my education at Concordia University, Irvine earning my Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught at my high school Alma Mater, Bishop Amat, for 4 years teaching English 9, English 10 Honors, English 12 Honors, and Freshman Composition. During my time there, I also served as sophomore moderator overseeing sophomore activities including the Sadie Hawkins Dance and Pep Week. In 2014, I moved to San Diego and continued my career at El Camino High School in Oceanside, CA. I currently teach English 10 and English 10 Pre AP.
