Mary is a writer and editor from Marin County, California now living in Oakland after graduating with an English degree from UC Berkeley. She wrote and edited for the Blog and Earth to Berkeley columns of her college paper, focusing on personal stories and environmentalism in her community. Her favorite part of the writing experience is taking an unexpected idea and finding an entirely new and great story. She loved her time studying at such a great school and feels proud and excited to help other students reach the same goals. She plans on honing in on your student’s strengths and accomplishments while encouraging a creative and unique approach. In her free time, she likes to find the best food around the Bay Area and read as many books as she can, pursuing a career in book publishing or magazine writing and editing.
