In the former role, he helped students hone their philosophical writing with a focus on clarity, argumentation, and attention to sources. In the latter role, Joseph has tutored students of all ages and backgrounds in various aspects of English proficiency for a multitude of purposes, ranging from academic writing to theatrical performance to standardized test preparation. During his academic career, he has presented his research at conferences hosted by Harvard, USC, and the American Philosophical Association, and has published in venues such as Oxford University Press.

Joseph has a passion for bringing academic research to general audiences. He has presented his research to the public in TED Talk-style competitions, winning 2nd place in UCSD’s own Grad SLAM and 3rd place in FSU’s Master’s in Four. He’s also a proud volunteer with Corrupt the Youth, a philosophy outreach program for high schoolers. In his free time, Joseph enjoys traveling, playing tabletop games, and spending time with his wife and two cats.
