Rick earned his master’s in English from the University of Chicago and recently earned his PhD in Literary Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a minor in Composition and Rhetoric. Rick’s research interests include 18th and 19th-century British literature, the Environmental humanities, and rhetoric, and he has published several peer-reviewed articles in some of the top academic journals in the field. Rick has seven years of experience teaching literature and composition courses at UW and seven years of experience tutoring at the UW-Madison Writing Center, where he has been recognized with an award for advanced teaching excellence.
