Kevin M. Kearney spent a decade teaching college and high school in Philadelphia before moving to San Diego. In that time, he worked with over a thousand students on writing their college essays, teaching them how to unlock their natural creativity to tell unique and compelling stories about their lives. He earned a Master’s in English from La Salle University and a Master’s in Secondary Education from St. Joseph’s University. Prior to that, he completed his undergrad at Wagner College in New York, where he majored in English and was a captain of the Track & Field team.
In addition to his teaching, Kevin is also a working writer whose stories have appeared in numerous influential literary journals and been spotlighted by places like LitHub. His debut novel, How to Keep Time, will be published in November 2022. When he’s not working on his fiction, he’s also a Staff Writer for PopMatters, a longstanding outlet for insightful pop culture writing, and the Fiction Editor for Rejection Letters, a journal publishing some of the most exciting voices in contemporary literature.
Kevin loves making and listening to music, camping, and long-distance running.
