Writing Instructor / Editing Partner
Ian is a graduate student in the School of Communication at San Diego State University (SDSU). Alongside his role as a student, Ian works as a Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA) for the School of Communication. This involves him instructing three small sections of Oral Communication (public speaking) to first-year undergraduate students at SDSU. Ian's teaching style revolves around helping students better organize their thoughts to help outlines and speeches maintain organization and clarity while allowing students to embrace creativity in their writing. In his role as Writing Instructor at Hamilton Education, Ian plans to apply this same teaching style to the students in his classroom to ensure they are prepared for the ACT and SAT without feeling trapped between four walls. While educating students on the necessary curriculum, Ian will apply in-class activities to ensure students are retaining information and truly growing as learners. Higher education is essential to many- and getting into the desired university is even more critical to increase student retention. Upon graduating from the School of Communication at SDSU, Ian plans to work in higher education to continue educating students and helping them reach their short-term and long-term goals.
